Cappy Capper Winner of ICSA Graham Hall Award

Sailors,

I am very pleased to announce today that our coach Cappy Capper has been selected by the ICSA committee as the winner of the 2009-2010 ICSA Graham Hall Award for outstanding service as a sailing professional.

This award recognizes organizers, administrators, advisors or coaches who have served the best interests of college sailing at the club/team, conference or national level. Cappy will be added to the elite list of names found on the permanent ICSA Hall of Fame display located in the Robert Crown Sailing Center at the U.S. Naval Academy (Annapolis, Md.).

I would like to thank Cappy for all of his hard work and years of dedication supporting youth sailing. We are honored to have Cappy Capper as our director and coach at the University of Minnesota.

ICSA president Mitch Brindley said it best, “Your support and enthusiasm for college sailing at the Universities of Minnesota and St. Thomas, in the MCSA, and all of the ICSA has truly been outstanding. I thank you for your tireless efforts for the sport of
college sailing of the past, present, and future.”

Cappy will be recognized and inducted into the ICSA Hall of Fame at the ICSA Awards Banquet on June 3, 2010 at in Madison, WI.
